This distinguished panel of experts and former Administration officials will provide a range of perspectives on:

  • Lessons learned as we look back on 30 years since the normalization of US-China relations
  • Impact of U.S. programs and policies on development of rule of law and human rights in China, including an assessment of the current Administration's policies
  • Where we should go from here as we look ahead to the new Administration

This event will be preceded at 10 a.m. in Room 628 Dirksen Senate Office Building by a CECC staff briefing on human rights and rule of law developments in China in 2008.
